A people who’ve turned their faces from God.
This is the suffering recounted in the Old Testament.
Job, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah…
Their written words were a path for their pain.
Their laments a cry to their God.
Timeless words.
Words laced with anguish and grief.
And words infused with eternal hope.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

Yes, this sums it up right now and in the past. HOPE. It’s what He has impressed upon me to write to reach those lost, broken, stuck and buried in dirty mire. There is only one HOPE and we have to point the way to the Way, Truth and Life in Jesus only! Thanks Ginny.
Just the thoughts I was thinking as I finished the book of Jeremiah and begin Ezekiel in my Bible reading. This world today is so much like Jeremiah’s.
I love how you used repetition to emphasize the suffering because of our sins but then refer to our hope in Christ, which is unfailing.
You concisely put into words what I have been struggling to write. Thank you for boiling it down to the essence: God is still in control.
